Here's something I would really love to see in Singapore.
There's this phone technology in Japan called QR Codes, which is some kind of a bar code. Users take a picture of the code with their i-mode phones and a relevant website will load up on the phone. That sounds extremely cool. You can read a more detailed explanation here.
QR is one of the most useful stuff in Japan right now.
Even fish markets make use of QR code so you now where your fish comes from. I am now awaiting for the advent of QR codes here! When i saw the Tagit codes (Datamatrix) that Sistic were going to use, i knew we had to get QR.
Tagit's technology is slow and you need to send the captured pics to their server to decode, QR is instant (and no additional data traffic charges too!)
QR! QR! QR! QR!

it's been around (in japan) for a long time already. You'll see these QR codes on namecards, flyers, print ads, packages, etc etc.. even the passport sticker you get on your passport when passing thru the japanese customs has one.
